THE COACHING system

Football Academy has a standardised, internal system of football training. Its purpose is to unify all the training processes in all Football Academy centres in UK and Poland. The training methods used during the training at Football Academy aim to:

- ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO PRACTICE FOOTBALL

- MAXIMIZE THE CHILDS FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT

- DELIVER TANGIBLE  RESULTS IN THE FIELD OF TECHNIQUE, DYNAMICS  AND GAME UNDERSTANDING

- ENTER CHILDREN IN THE  WORLD OF FOOTBALL.

The Football Academy training system is based on the training methods used in the best English football Academies and also solutions used by the German and Spanish and Dutch Football Federations.

Our training system has been developed by the Head Coaches at Football Academy and is also based on the experience of coordination coaches and the observations made by coaches in all  Football Academy and FAUK centres.

TRAINING AIMS

The main task of Football Academy UK is to provide youth national football teams with players, who from an early age (even 3.5 years old) are prepared for the process of enrolment to leading football clubs and they are trained according to modern training methods which are appropriate for childrens football.

Football Academy is also a place for players who have not been selected by other local leading football clubs, and who wish to continue a process of football education in order to improve their skills and to maintain the chance of further selection. This strategy offers a wide range of selection of the youngest players.

Football Academy is also a centre which teaches and compliments the skills of the players who play in local football clubs but who wish to train more frequently.

Below are just a few of the training solutions used by Football Academy for specific age groups.

HOW TO WORK WITH CHILDREN AGED 4-6 YEARS OLD

Sports training directly affects the personal development of each child. Through correct guidance unimaginable benefits can be achieved.

Children at this age are constantly active. It often happens that training is spontaneous, as children run, jump or chase each other. Physical movement for children aged four, five or six is a fundamental part of personal development.

Through exercise and playing football, they develop their senses, perceptiveness and concentration.

In addition, they obtain:

- stamina, curiosity, spontaneity, motivation to move and have fun,

- pleasure from both physical activity and a willingness to take on challenges,

- the desire to learn and improve the skills acquired,

- encouraging physical, mental, emotional and social development.

  ABILITIES OF CHILDREN AGED 4-6 YEARS

 PHYSICAL POTENTIAL

 MANAGEMENT

Is unlimited when playing for fun and constantly moving.

 A child is careful.

Tires easily.

 Must always be in the spotlight.

Is extremely flexibly.

 Admires the coach.

Has an undeveloped muscular system.

 Has a powerful imagination.

Does not have good coordination.

 Has a short concentration span.

A few rules should be kept in mind when conducting training sessions with a group of young players:

1) choose exercises and games for children which give them enough freedom in performance but within the confines of the rules. This influences their imagination and helps them to make quick and proper decisions.

2) organize games so that each child can win.

3) focus on the overall motor development of the child.

4) the most important part of the training is the MATCH

5) no individual rankings and evaluation of players should take place at this stage.

TRAINING GROUPS

In all Football Academy centres the training groups are divided into the following:

- Beckham (4-5 years old);

- Owen (6-7 years old);

- Lampard (8-9 years old);

- Rooney (10-12 years old).

Please note that age is not the only criterion for membership to a specific training group.

We also take skill into consideration and if a younger player (boy or girl) has the right skills then they can train in the older group (and vice versa)

THE PHILOSOPHY of CHILDRENS FOOTBALL

Childrens and adults football are two separate concepts. Work with young children should focus solely on their needs, interests and desires. Performance of this age is irrelevant. It often happens that in football coaches pay attention to the final result of matches. Additionally, they are motivated by the expectations of parents who hope that their child will always win. Football for children is however primarily about entertainment and fun which is something we should get pleasure and satisfaction from.

THE TRAINING OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS SHOULD DIFFER FROM EACH OTHER.
